The human brain checks out as soon as it sees something expected.
And few things are more expected on the Wild Wild Web as exit pops — those little boxes that pop up, wondering if you’re really sure you want to leave this page.
Now we use exit pops as an opt-in offer, too.
They’re a super high-impact place to give your reader something unexpected. And make them laugh.
And when you make ’em laugh, they’re yours for life.
