Hi Samantha, you didn’t log any time last week.
How I spent my summer vacation, by Samantha Kate Pollack:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
— watched Stranger Things season 3 and hightailed it to the Asheville Mall, which was not nearly as cool. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
— watched a whole lot of Law & Order SVU, Bosch, and all of Fleabag. Also: started Veronica Mars because Kelly Terry will not leave me alone about it.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
— took some couch naps⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
— got stranded in my favorite bookstore during a thunderstorm (I know, tragic)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
— cleaned my house, put up fairy lights on the porch, and spent a lot of time snuggling with the cat.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
— made zucchini bread⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
— got my hair cut⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
— spent a whole Saturday reading Fingersmith by Sarah Waters (click here for my review)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
— went through my Q1 Self Journal and erased every page, so I could reuse it for Q3 #smart #resourceful #cheap #climateanxiety #toomuchtimeonmyhands⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
— went to see Toy Story 4 by myself, because I really wanted to go to the movies and there wasn’t anything I wanted to see. Thought about sneaking into a double feature; decided instead to go home and hang with the cat some more.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
— spent at least 3/14 days in my PJs, sometimes changing clothes right before my husband got home so he wouldn’t know I’d been in my PJs all day.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
<Obligatory message about how self care isn’t all bubble baths and massages.>⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
<Obligatory message about the need for resting your brain.>⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
<Obligatory inspirational quote about taking some ‘me time.’>⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Samantha Pollack writes creative copy (mostly emails) for feminist companies and/or thought leaders who are working to build a fairer, more connected culture. She’s also the founder of The Highly Sensitive Entrepreneur, a 6-week course that helps HSP business owners create healthier, more sustainable systems in their work.
She publishes frequent essays on feminism, privilege, pop culture, entrepreneurship, the creative process, and more on her website, cultofpersonality.co. She currently lives in Asheville, NC, and while she can *technically* work from anywhere, she prefers her adventures laptop-free.
Emails for cult thought leaders.
Want to learn how to craft emails that inspire action and engagement WITHOUT the “tried and true” (cough: patriarchal) norms we’ve all been taught?
I’m doing it, and I can show you how to do it, too.
(But sometimes, I also like to write about the books I’m reading, or the creative process, or the entrepreneurial experience, or why I hate Steve Jobs, or how I met my BFF. I’ll send you emails like that, too.)
*Just kidding. It’s only an email list.
Books. Cats. Rants. Drawrings.
(and every couple months or so, an unexplained absence 🤷🏻)
