Do you meditate?
I’ve been sitting for 10 minutes every morning.
Most of the time, when I get back into a meditation practice, it goes well. I’m usually pretty good at quieting my mind, and I know so many breathing techniques and guided meditations that I can always find something that does the trick.
But lately, all I’m doing is sitting there thinking about shit. It’s like my nervous system is too keyed up to sit still.
Maybe it’s the thrill of coming out of a year of isolation?
I don’t know.
But at least when I open my eyes at the end, I see this guy, who’s been sitting with me the whole time, showin’ me how it’s done.
