The Highly Sensitive Business Owner: Module 5

Image text: The Highly Sensitive Business Owner: Program Modules. Module 5: Entrepreneurial Culture, Racism, and PrivilegeYep… this is a module in my Highly Sensitive Business Owner™ program.

My first cohort is still shaping itself, but I’ve been running on the assumption that most of the participants of this cohort will be wh*te women. So this caption, AND this module, are written from that perspective.

After the murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery in early 2020, I revamped this entire program. It’s not that I didn’t WANT to include anti-racism work before, but those events led to some deeper education and exploration on my part, which has helped me better understand my own unexamined racism & how I’ve benefited from wh*te supremacy.

And one thing I noticed was that my high sensitivity was getting in the way of me doing this work, because I was SO upset about the pain and injustice experienced by other people. So, in this section of the program, we’re going to get into that.

I’ve included this in a module that ALSO includes sexism, misogynistic dickheads, toxic entrepreneurship & social media vibes, and lots of other super-fun things. LOL.

Our conversations during this phase will cover…

>> Grappling with your own privilege, getting over your guilt, and using your sensitivity as a tool to power you toward activism instead of a stick to beat yourself with

>> How to do the important work that’s required of us, and bear witness to these hard, horrible facts that have been hidden from us, while also honoring your own sensitivity & empathy

>>Opting out of toxic entrepreneurship and/or hustle culture

>> Difficult people, bad juju, sexist assholes, and gaslighters

Sounds fun, right? 🙂

If you haven’t seen this yet, I have the COOLEST sales page ever for this program. Please look at it, even if it’s just to oooh and aww at what a good designer I have. (thank you Nomatik Design Co !)

Next time I launch, we’re going to talk about what it’s like to launch as an HSP. 😳

(Personality included.)

Want to learn how to craft emails that inspire action and engagement WITHOUT the “tried and true” (cough: patriarchal) norms we’ve all been taught?

I’m doing it, and I can show you how to do it, too.

(But sometimes, I also like to write about the books I’m reading, or the creative process, or the entrepreneurial experience, or why I hate Steve Jobs, or how I met my BFF. I’ll send you emails like that, too.)
